Red Wine Cake

INGREDIENTS:

1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Sugar
4 Eggs
2 Cups Flour
1 Tbsp. Vanilla sugar
1 Tsp. Cinnamon
1 Tbsp. Cocoa
1/2 Cup Red Wine
12 Oz. Chocolate Chips
1 Tbsp. Backing Powder

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Time: 60 minutes

DIRECTIONS:

Melt butter in microwave, then mix with sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs. Add cinnamon, cocoa, red wine, and chocolate chips. Slowly stir in flour and backing powder. Bake dough for about 60 minutes (but make sure to check about 15 minutes – if the top is getting too dark, cover with aluminum foil).

While the cake is great when served right away (with powdered sugar up top), it is even more delicious if you leave it out for 2 or 3 days. By then the cake really develops its best taste.
