Last week I went to Düsseldorf – for one reason: to visit Tomas Saraceno‘s exhibit in orbit. Check it out here.

After taking the train for 5 hours and finally checking into my hotel I checked the exhibit’s website to find the exact address. Unfortunately I then realized that the exhibit was currently closed due last week’s heat which had weakened the inflated spheres. Therefore one could still look at the installation from below but not walk on it – which was the main reason why I had decided to make this trip to Düsseldorf.

Anyways – since I was already there and had no other plans I decided to visit the K21 Ständehaus nevertheless and at least see whether the installation is worth coming back for. The Ständehaus has several interesting exhibits going on right now, and together with in orbit I had good enough share of ‘experiencing-art’.
