task #3 in Sokhuthai

IMG_5977

Write a postcard to yourself describing the best part of the trip so far.”

Today’s task was just perfect for the city we arrived at this morning. We took a bus from Phitsanulok to Old Sokhuthai – where (according to lonely planet) “Thailand’s most impressive historical park” is located. Visiting this city was also a recommendation by Nina, a friend we made during our last hours in Ayutthaya. It seemed that this city has a lot going for it – so, of course, we had to come see it.

The ruins of the historical park – temples in the shape of the classic lotus-bud chedi and awe-inspiring Buddha statues – as well as several ponds invite any visitor to spend hours walking (or cycling in our case) through the park.

We were able to find postcards at the local food market. After dinner and a lovely conversation with “O”, we then both wrote our postcards (addressed to each other).

For now I won’t be able to tell you about our favorite moments yet. We’ll have to wait until the postcards make it to Santa Barbara & Berlin. So…. front of postcards coming soon!!! 🙂
